About Web Design Hubli
Born in Hubli. Building for the web since 2001.
Web Design Hubli is led by Vikas Solanke. Hubli is where he was born; Bangalore is where most of his working life took shape. The studio brings what those years taught — about search, architecture, analytics and ecommerce — back to businesses here.
We are deliberately not a volume agency. The work we want is with businesses that are willing to look at the evidence, understand where their website falls short and invest in getting the foundation right.

Before websites became easy
The first website Vikas built was for his college, in the first year of a Diploma in Instrumentation Technology. It was hosted on Yahoo GeoCities, reached over an unreliable dial-up modem.
Editing usually meant downloading the actual page files over FTP, changing the content or the metadata by hand, and uploading them again. There were no visual builders and no one-click deployments — the web asked for technical involvement from whoever was building it. That is where the habit started.
SEO before it was an industry
Around 2002–2003, a Chennai web design company needed SEO help it couldn't deliver itself. Through an online Q&A community, Vikas — who already understood titles and descriptions — was brought in to do the work, with tools such as Internet Business Promoter adding some process.
Search soon became far more sophisticated, and technical architecture became inseparable from performance. One question has stayed useful throughout: what does the machine need to understand, and what does the person need to see?
Eleven years in Bangalore
Process matters. So does freedom.
Eleven years of professional work in Bangalore covered search, website architecture, analytics, digital marketing and ecommerce. Some organisations ran on layers of approval for every URL; startups often cared only about outcomes and gave room to experiment. Both showed how decisions in one team ripple into search and architecture — and how much better a product gets when its people are trusted.
Alongside full-time roles there was weekend consulting, including SEO work outsourced by web design companies in the United States. Seeing projects from inside and outside a company made one thing clear: a website is a technical product, a search asset, a marketing channel and a business interface at the same time.

How we look at a website
Never through one pair of eyes. When we evaluate a site we deliberately switch roles, because each one notices different failures:
- 01Someone who knows nothing about technology
- 02The impatient customer
- 03The critical customer
- 04The person who understands technology
- 05The search engine trying to interpret the page
Digital engineering, not decoration
A website serves two audiences. People need clarity, hierarchy, trust and a reason to act. Search engines need a structure they can crawl and interpret. The business needs both — plus speed, stability and a sensible path from visitor to customer.
The design is the visible part. The engineering underneath — information architecture, logical navigation, fast and stable pages, search-friendly structure — is what makes it useful. A redesign should fix the reasons the old site was failing, not just replace the wallpaper.
We don't sell web design or SEO as fixed packages. A local service business, a competitive ecommerce store and a complex B2B company don't share a problem, so they shouldn't share a solution.
Recognition, stated plainly

India Brand Icon 2020
Received at a ceremony organised by Time Cyber Media, presented by Lara Dutta. A milestone and a recognition — not a technical certification.

LinkedIn SEO skill assessment — top 5%
A LinkedIn Search Engine Optimization assessment placed the result in the top 5% of 1.3 million people who took it. A specific result, rather than a claim about years.
We don't want you to feel impressed on launch day. We want you to feel relieved — confident in a website that simply does its job.
